Suprem court question?

The defendant lost his appeal in the Court of Appeal. On April 19, his attorney filed a petition for review before the Court of Appeal decision was final (it was premature). The Supreme Court filed it when it was timely to do so, on April 23. The Supreme Court usually acts on those about 2 months after they are filed. The "scheduled actions" link is just a notation of things which MIGHT have to be done--if the Supreme Court denies review, then the Court of Appeal will issue its remittitur (ending its jurisdiction over the case) soon thereafter. If the Supreme Court grants review (a rarity) then the case could take up to two years more to resolve.
