Does it matter that McCain is a war veteran?

I have nothing but respect for McCain's service to this country, and his POW experience. He is truly an American hero. But you are correct that this does not qualify one to be President. McCain has consistently voted against legislation to help America's veterans, even though he is one, including voting against the 21st century GI Bill. Frankly, I have a very hard time reconciling that stance with his position as a former POW. But regardless, his service deserves the highest honor in the land.....but does not qualify him for the highest office in the land.
